Television presenter Maya Jama and Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias are reeling after burglars targeted their home on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
The incident occurred while Ruben, 28, was in Turkey playing an away game against Galatasaray and Maya, 31, was in South Africa filming Love Island: All Stars.
Reports state that thieves broke into their £4 million property in Alderley Edge and stole thousands of pounds worth of designer clothing, jewelry, and electronics.
Ruben discovered the break-in late Wednesday night when he returned from his match and found the house turned upside down.
The couple had only recently moved into the ultra-modern mansion, which is an Omaze prize-draw property they rent for approximately £20,000 a month.
Sources close to the pair say they feel "devastated" by the invasion of their personal space, especially since this was the first home they shared as a couple.
Cheshire Police confirmed they received reports of the burglary shortly after 11:10 p.m. and that an investigation is currently ongoing.
Security experts have frequently warned about the risks facing celebrities in the "Golden Triangle" of Cheshire, an area popular with Premier League players.
Maya had previously shared numerous photos and videos of the stunning property on her social media, which some suggest may have made the home a target for criminals.
This crime follows several similar high-profile raids in the area, including a Boxing Day burglary at the home of Ruben’s teammate, Jack Grealish, in 2023.
While the mansion features sophisticated security systems, the burglars managed to bypass them to gain entry.
Press contacted both Maya and Ruben’s representatives for further comment while the police continue to search for the perpetrators.
For now, the couple is focusing on securing their home and dealing with the emotional aftermath of the event.
