Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell and her partner, YouTuber Joe Sugg, announced the birth of their first child on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
The couple shared a joint Instagram post featuring the first photos of their newborn son, who arrived on Monday, March 16. In the caption, they expressed their joy, stating they have "never felt a love like it."
The couple revealed they named their son Bowden Mark Richard Sugg.
The middle names serve as tributes to their families: Mark is the name of Dianne’s father, while Richard honors Joe’s late grandfather, who passed away in 2021.
The name Bowden itself is of Old English origin, traditionally meaning "dweller by the top of a hill."
Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg first met in 2018 when producers partnered them together on the 16th series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Their relationship became public shortly after the series final, and they have been together ever since.
The couple announced the pregnancy in September 2025 with a creative video set to Elton John’s "Tiny Dancer," featuring them painting a picture of a stick-figure family.
During her pregnancy, Dianne made history as the first professional dancer to compete on Strictly while pregnant.
Producers paired her with Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis for the 2025 series, though his injury forced them to withdraw early.
Despite facing some social media criticism for dancing while pregnant, Dianne remained vocal about the strength of the female body and continued to perform in professional routines throughout the season.
