David Walliams is 'unsackable' from Britain's Got Talent

Simon Cowell thinks David Walliams is "unsackable" from "Britain's Got Talent".

The 58-year-old music mogul has admitted he'd never get rid of the 46-year-old comedian from the talent show's panel because he thinks him and the programme are the "perfect match" - even though he does have to tell him to tone it down sometimes - and he took a lot of persuading to join in the first place.

Speaking on "Lorraine" on Thursday (12.04.18), Simon said: "I always say to him calm it down. But this year it's 20 times worse. You can't stop him.

"I think he's always been unsackable. I do remember the first time I sat down with him, we had one of the worst meetings I've ever had.

"He came into the dressing room when I was doing "X Factor" and I pitched him the show and we had one of the worst meetings I've ever had. When I say it was bad, it was bad, and I thought, "This is never going to happen".

"And then a year later we had another conversation and he agreed to it. I mean, to be fair, he and the show are a perfect match."

However, not everyone agrees with Simon as Piers Morgan - who was on the judging panel from 2007 until 2010 - thinks the show boss should get rid of David.

He said recently: "I don't think Simon Cowell could afford me. When I was a judge the ratings were 30 million and they're half that now. I'm doing the maths and it doesn't look good for Simon ... I'd be the new head judge if the money was right. If Simon made me an offer I couldn't refuse I would, and frankly looking at the performance of David Walliams, that question should come sooner rather than later."
