Eric Mendelsohn graduated in fine arts at the Purchase New York State University in 1989. He became a painter and made a debut in the movies as assistant to Jeffrey Kurland, Woody Allen's costume designer.
Hemade his first film - a short entitled 'Through An Open Window - in 1992.
