Aïda Ballmann is an actress from the Canary Islands, Spain, with German origins.
She gained her language abilities, fluent Spanish, German and English, during her international and multidisciplinary education in the field of performance, circus and acting.
As the daughter of the renown painter Kitabo, Aïda Ballmann and her three sisters grew up surrounded by nature on the colorful and magical island El Hierro, one of the seven Canary Islands.
This enchanting environment, the music, reading and writing, the art of her father, the circus and clown, and above all, her imagination, filled her first years of life. Aïda's desire to discover the world brought her to the United Kingdom where she worked with socially problematic adolescents.
After this experience she decided to start one of the big journeys of her life, together with her twin sister. They first walked "The Way of St.
James" (Camino de Santiago) and then embarked towards Latin America, traveling through Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and Mexico.
This great adventure played a crucial role in her life, as she discovered her passion, the world of the performance. To fulfill that dream she moved to Asturias to commence her studies in drama.
More recently she has carried out advanced courses on Meisner and Strassberg technique in Cologne, Germany, in order to improve her acting.
After working in a children and street theatre and in the theme-park Isla Mágica in Sevilla (as an actress and an action stunt woman), Aïda was selected in an international casting to shoot the leading role in the movie "The Extraordinary Tale".
In this movie, shot in English, Aïda shows everything she has learned during her studies and journeys.
So far, the movie has received eight national and international awards and has been screened in international festivals, events and cinemas in Europe, EE.UU and Colombia. Aïda has been awarded "best actress of the year" by the prominent international independent movie web 'filmbizarro.com' and at the Independent Film Festival at Cardiff and she has been nominated best actress in the Andalucian Cinema awards.
Furthermore she received excellent critics from the prestigious paper "The Hollywood Reporter", amongst others.
