Slow Horses stays sharp while AI sitcom misses the mark

Apple TV’s Slow Horses returns for a sixth series with its usual blend of espionage, cynicism and grim humour

MI5’s disgraced agents find themselves targeted by assassins, while a suspicious clear-out and a supposedly dead veteran spy add further intrigue

Gary Oldman’s Jackson Lamb remains magnificently revolting, even turning lunch into an ordeal

By contrast, YouTube’s No Big Deal, produced entirely with artificial intelligence, struggles badly with comic timing, movement and continuity

Its low-cost production may appeal to aspiring filmmakers, but the lifeless result suggests technology still cannot replicate the human touch that makes comedy work.
