Prime Video Drops Spy Comedy Despite Strong Audience Response

Prime Video has declined to renew Hannah Waddingham’s spy comedy Ride Or Die, despite its impressive reception

The series, created by Tessa Coates, topped Prime Video’s global viewing figures for three weeks and earned a 96 per cent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes

It starred Waddingham alongside Octavia Spencer as best friends caught up in an assassin’s dangerous secret

The decision has prompted calls for another streamer to rescue the show

Writer Katy Brand criticised the industry’s treatment of stories centred on middle-aged women, while the programme’s unresolved cliffhangers left viewers especially frustrated.
