Personal possessions belonging to French film star Brigitte Bardot have raised almost €1 million at a Paris auction, exceeding the estimate by roughly 20 times
The 185 lots included furniture, guitars, hats, tableware and dog collars from her homes in Saint-Tropez and Paris
Auctioneer Alexandre Millon praised the remarkable result, with proceeds supporting Bardot’s animal welfare foundation and her son Nicolas-Jacques Charrier
However, her widower Bernard d'Ormale criticised the sale, arguing that such personal belongings should have been protected as part of her lasting legacy.
