Janette Manrara has described missing out on the main Strictly Come Dancing presenting role as the toughest rejection of her career

After 13 years associated with the BBC programme, including hosting It Takes Two and the live tour, she auditioned alongside names including Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe

Manrara said she was devastated and cried for a week after receiving the news

She has since left It Takes Two, with Ellie Taylor joining the revamped spin-off

Her next project is the play Affluenza at London’s Riverside Studios.
