Maya Jama entered Celebrity Traitors with a secret of her own: filming began shortly after her relationship with Manchester City defender Ruben Dias ended
The split was reportedly amicable, but the couple still shared a home and remained fond of one another
Being isolated from phones and social media at Ardross Castle gave the presenter space to concentrate on the BBC series
Chosen as a Traitor by Claudia Winkleman, Jama has quickly become a viewer favourite alongside Richard E Grant and James Acaster
The show’s success has also brought fresh acting opportunities and boosted her profile.
