Anneka Rice has revealed that a letter from her former husband’s solicitor during their divorce proceedings contributed to her decision to leave television
The presenter, then raising two young sons, feared the wording suggested her demanding career made her an inadequate mother, although she now believes it was merely legal humour and not her ex-husband’s view
Exhaustion from filming also played a part, with gruelling, round-the-clock schedules eventually taking their toll
Rice later returned to presenting, revived Challenge Anneka and was awarded an MBE for her charity and broadcasting work
Her autobiography, Challenge!, is due this week.
