Kristin Scott Thomas calls for calm in the theatre

Kristin Scott Thomas has admitted that poor theatre manners test her patience, though she tries not to confront noisy or distracted audience members during a performance

The actress is appearing as Madame Ranevskaya in a new staging of Chekhov’s *The Cherry Orchard* at London’s Harold Pinter Theatre, alongside Stephen Mangan

She praised London theatregoers for their attentiveness, while Mangan said the cast had so far enjoyed well-behaved audiences

Their comments arrive amid growing frustration among West End performers over mobile phones, filming and other interruptions during live shows.
