A representative for Freeman confirmed that the couple tied the knot earlier this year, rather than the actor announcing the news himself
They appeared together at a red-carpet event this week, wearing wedding rings
Freeman, 55, and Benaissa, 32, began dating in 2020
Benaissa has appeared in BBC productions including Normal People and This Way Up, and also writes screenplays
She is said to have formed a close bond with Freeman’s two children.
