Hugh Grant reportedly rejected a package worth $750,000 per episode and a four-day working week to replace Charlie Sheen on *Two and a Half Men*

Creator Chuck Lorre said Grant pulled out in 2011, despite specially written scenes and an offer to use recorded laughter instead of a live audience

The role eventually went to Ashton Kutcher, whose arrival helped the sitcom run for another four seasons

Sheen later worked with Lorre again in the comedy series *Bookie*.
