The former Coronation Street star said she now feels embarrassed when taxi drivers recall taking her home before she went teetotal, fearing she may have been upset or difficult
Hesmondhalgh reflected that drinking was deeply embedded in working-class northern culture during her youth
She also discussed feeling insecure about romantic roles and challenged the idea that desirability has one fixed appearance
Despite winning fans with her starstruck enthusiasm, she was later banished from the castle after being mistaken for a Traitor.
