Dame Judi Dench has described the 2019 film Cats as a major disappointment, despite never watching its final version
In her memoir, the veteran actress said the adaptation squandered considerable goodwill and talent, while stressing that everyone involved had tried their best
Based on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical, the film featured stars including James Corden, Taylor Swift and Idris Elba
Critics largely rejected it, and it lost money at the box office
Dench was later nominated for a Razzie, though Rebel Wilson won the category.
