Nadia Sawalha says she is taking ITV to court after leaving Loose Women, alleging she was treated unlawfully because of her support for Palestine and anti-Zionist beliefs
The British-Jordanian presenter discussed the dispute at London’s Ethnicity Awards, where she also spoke publicly about Palestinian rights
ITV says it has received a legal letter and responded, but was not aware of any court proceedings
Sawalha’s lawyers allege direct and indirect discrimination, as well as harassment, under the Equality Act 2010
She has said pursuing the case could end her television career
Former colleague Charlene White won the broadcaster award for which both were nominated.
