A chance meeting in Mexico has brought fresh attention to an undocumented chapter in the life of actor Rex Harrison
In the 1930s, a British woman reportedly had a son, Richard, whose father was the then little-known performer
The information eventually reached Carey Harrison, who contacted Richard and introduced him to his half-brother Noel Harrison, long regarded as Rex’s first-born
The family connection later became known through former Downing Street press officer Wayne Bontoft, whose authorised biography examines Noel’s life and career.
