Broadcaster Clare Balding says honest communication has helped sustain her 24-year relationship with Alice Arnold
The pair met at a BBC event in 1999, despite Alice initially viewing Clare as an overconfident upstart and resisting the idea of dating another broadcaster
Alice also encouraged Clare to come out publicly, which she did in 2003
They formed a civil partnership in 2006 and married in 2015
The couple later became popular Gogglebox regulars, using the programme to show the everyday happiness of a same-sex marriage
Clare now hopes to spend more time at home, enjoying golf, walks, Pilates and reading.
