The mysterious Italian Count of Cagliostro (Bekim Fehmiu), a member of a pre-revolutionary lodge the aim of which is to give freedom to the European populations, holds supernatural powers he uses to heal the poor all over Europe, but his activity is considered dangerous by the 18th century's establishment.

The Pope and the regal house of France try to eliminate him by locking him up in a castle.
