Roman London. Founded by the Romans as a trading post on the Thames, Londinium was razed to the ground by the rebellious Queen Boudicca. Rebuilt, it flourished for centuries before being abandoned during the Saxon conquest of England. Refounded, it prospered again only to attract the attention of the Vikings and Normans.
