A newspaper reporter, is engaged and planning to move to New York for a higher paying job. All are waiting to cover the hanging of Earl Williams, who escapes.

Hildy seizes the opportunity by using his honeymoon money to get the scoop and finds the bewildered escapee and hides him in the press room. Can they keep Williams' whereabouts secret long enough to get the scoop?
