Robinson Crusoe's youthful attraction to the seafaring life puts him in peril after a fierce storm sinks his sailing ship and strands him on a tropical island.

His companions, a dog, a cat and a parrot are joined by a native he names Friday but his life becomes more dangerous and complicated.
