Parer's War

1942: Darwin has been bombed and 29-year-old cinematographer Damien Parer is filming Australian troops as they fight the Japanese on the deadly razorback ridges of New Guinea.

His desperate efforts to return to the battlefield to capture what he believed was the 'truth' of war were thwarted by his own government.
