Enthusiasm: Symphony of the Donbass

The first Soviet sound film, and considered one of Dziga Vertov's masterpieces, Enthusiasm deals with the Soviet Five Year Plan of the late 1920s. Vertov radically attempts to link economic progress with the introduction of sound in cinema in this complex, innovated, avant-garde piece of cinematic history.
