Episode 1

A landlord reports a dog has been left in a flat by a deceased tenant and is malnourished. All is not what it seems when they turn up at the flat and the inspectors discover the dog is more unwanted than abandoned.

Episode 2

Swan in trouble, Linlithgow Loch (Animal Rescue Officer Connie O'Neill) A swan has been reported seen at a loch in Linlithgow with a fishing hook in its tongue. This officer has experience with swans but with 60 swans on the loch she knows they can be hard to spot and catch, especially when distressed.

Episode 3

Of the 4,000 abandoned dogs in Scotland each year, 40% are Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Roxy is another one to arrive at the Scottish SPCA Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Aberdeen, but she has an added problem of being diabetic. It could be a long wait for Roxy but the perfect match is just round the corner.

Episode 4

A pod of 60 whales come in to shore leaving 45 stranded. It's a fight against time to try and refloat them. Helpers and marine experts work through the night and successfully save 30 of them and unfortunately have to put 15 stranded whales to sleep.

Episode 5

A typical day at work for Senior Inspector Andy Brown in Inverness as he attends an injured deer that's been knocked down, some owls found in a refinery and rescues a diseased sheep at a caravan site, and takes 4 kittens for rehoming.

Episode 6

Baby owlets have been handed into the Five Sisters Zoo in West Lothian. Specialist care from the Scottish SPCA should help build them up to a fit state they can be released into the wild. The owlets are hand fed and then put into an outdoor aviary before their release a few months later as fully grown owls.
