Through personal stories of the people who were around him, this film follows Martin Luther King, Jr.
during the last years of his life: from the passage of the Voting Rights Act in 1965 to his assassination in 1968. This period, which is largely left out of the history books, provides a clear window into King's character, as a man with an unshakeable commitment to nonviolence in the face of an increasingly unstable country.
