Series from 1979
As Archie is working on what he wants most, a big expansion of his bar, he gets what he wants least - a new partner, in the first of a two-part story. Archie is full of plans to add a restaurant to the bar, but old partner Harry refuses to go along. While Archie tries to get a bank loan to buy Harry out, businessman Murray Klein looks over the bar's prospects and likes what he sees.
Disregarding a warning from Levy the Lawyer about Archie's outspoken opinions, Murray takes over Harry's half-interest in the bar, as an outraged Archie does his best to stop the deal, in the conclusion of a two-part story.
Edith wants to get a job, and Murray convinces her she can do it, but Archie's first, last, and final word on the idea is NO!
Business partners Archie and Murray disagree over what to do about a friendly lady who's set up a business of her own - and hers is "picking up."
Edith's frantic scurrying does little to satisfy a howling Archie, who is sick over the energy crisis - literally.
Archie's questionable bookkeeping practices get him into serious trouble with the State Tax Department, but all he can think about is how to get rid of partner Murray.
