Shaman King is an anime series based on the manga of the same name written by Hiroyuki Takei. The series is directed by Seiji Mizushima and co-produce…
On a night with full moon Manta hears a voice coming from the graveyard. He sees a strange boy who looks happy surrounded by ghosts. The next day, nobody in his class believes Manta's story.
Manta`s curious to know what shaman is. Yoh tells Manta that he has come to Tokyo to team up with strong ghosts. Then, he asks Amidamaru to become his guardian ghost but Amidamaru refuses.
Manta meets another mysterious person, Tao-Len, a shaman guarded by the ghost of a Chinese swordsman. Unlike Yoh who is easy-going, Tao-Len looks dangerous. He boasts that the world does not need Shamans other than him.
Assaulted by Len and having passed out, Yoh is saved by Ryu, the bearer of a wooden sword. When Yoh recovers consciousness, he finds Amidamaru ashamed of his helplessness. Then, Yoh tells Manta about the Shaman King.
Yoh defeats Len with the spell of Perfect Possession. The following morning Anna of Osorezan, Yoh's very strong-spirited fiancée, pays a visit to him at the hospital. Having been bullied by Anna for a long time, Yoh cannot really compete with her.
In preparation for the Shaman Fight, Yoh trains himself, following the hard program Anna has prepared for him. Then, Yoh goes to see a movie which features Lee Pai-Long, a legendary action hero who died a mysterious death seventeen years ago.
