Animal behaviorist Owen Grady and park operations assistant manager Claire Dearing work together in dealing with running Jurassic World.
As fortune-hunter Sinjin Prescott arrives on Isla Nublar on a mysterious quest, Claire tears Owen away from training the raptors to help her guide annoying-but-influential theme-park reviewer Larson Mitchell around the park. The tour becomes a rescue mission when Larson ditches Owen and Claire to explore solo... and finds big trouble as Sinjin's employer, Dennis Nedry's vengeful nephew Danny, sabotages Larson's aerial tramway car!
Unaware a massive storm is approaching, Simon and Claire become lost in the jungle until they find and abandoned trailer. Simon unexpectedly stumbles upon a video diary made by Dennis Nedry, but is unaware that it contains valuable information about the lost treasure Sinjin is looking for. Spying on Simon through the trailer window, Sinjin makes a play for the videotape, Claire and Owen must retrieve their boss before he's swept away by both a mudslide and a herd of rampaging triceratops!
Over the protests of fellow geneticist Allison, Dr. Wu cuts corners to create a hybrid dinosaur for Simon. Unfortunately, the frightened creature runs amok in the park, pressing Owen, Red, Claire and the raptors into action to save lives! Meanwhile, Danny and Sinjin make a sneaky, complicated attempt to steal the Nedry videotape from Simon's new "Origins of Jurassic Park" historical exhibit in the Visitor Center.
Owen meets exuberant, young, park super-fan Hudson Harper... shortly before Hudson cons his way into the Pteranodon Aviary and becomes trapped by the ferocious flying reptiles. Owen recruits a testy stygimoloch to help him stage a daring rescue at the same time security director Vic Hoskins mobilizes his team to retrieve Hudson... and the two missions collide at just the wrong time. Meanwhile, Sinjin and Danny set out to defeat the elaborate security system protecting the Nedry videotape, and Allison grows increasingly angry with her boss, Dr. Wu.
Ian Malcolm returns to Jurassic World (to Owen's chagrin when he sees sparks fly between Ian and Claire) to deliver a lecture, but Simon's crazy preparations for his guest overloads the park's power plant, creating havoc everywhere! At the same time, Danny hypnotizes Sinjin in hopes he'll recall his glimpse of the ancient map shown on Nedry's video. The map should lead to the legendary lost treasure of famed pirate Cap'n No-Beard, but Sinjin's hypnosis leads them somewhere else...
Simon's plan to place a dilophosaurus exhibit in the park's hotel goes awry when the dino escapes and runs amok. Owen and the raptors take up pursuit before the hotel's guests can panic, unintentionally leaving Red out of the adventure. As Red sulks, Vic and his gung-ho security team join the chase for the dinosaur, causing havoc throughout the hotel. Owen and Claire have their hands full trying to corral the dilophosaurus and keep guests out of Vic's path of careless craziness. Our heroes need Red's help... But where is he?
