BEING MARY JANE is BET's first one-hour drama brought to us by the creator of "Girlfriends" and "The Game." The series focuses on the life of SNC news anchor, Mary Jane Paul.
She seems to have it all, yet something is missing.
Mary Jane Paul (Gabrielle Union) is part of a growing American statistic-- the single, black female. A news anchor with style, class and almost everything else a girl could want; she reports on the lives of others every night, but now we pull the curtain.
Andre comes face to face with David at Mary Jane's house, in an encounter that leaves Mary Jane convinced both men are none the wiser. Meanwhile, changes are afoot at SNC after an anchor is unceremoniously fired.
Mary Jane ponders a dramatic life-change after Andre orchestrates a motel room rendezvous, during which he tells her exactly what he intended to do prior to her discovering that he's married.
After Mary Jane's affair with Andre is exposed, she's forced to face the reality that her illicit tryst may have a deeper hold on her than she could have ever imagined.
After Andre compares Mary Jane's sexual aptitude to Avery's, Mary Jane responds by meeting a man online. And when Helen's diamond bracelet goes missing, both Paul Sr. and Helen expose their true feelings about their children.
Just when Mary Jane and Andre settle into living temporarily together, Mary Jane attends a charity gala and runs into an old love. Meanwhile at work, Mary Jane will be faced with a tough decision of protecting a friend.
