Violeta is a beautiful woman who takes care of her family, but especially her father who suffers from a serious illness. Jose Maria is the son Toribio, owner of a hardware store, who works hard to give her family a better life.
Julio suspects that Justino bought votes to get Mariela to win the beauty pageant. Violeta and her family suffer when they see Amado die.
Violeta promises Amado that she will help her family get out of poverty. Antonia decides to pawn her jewels in order to pay for Amado's funeral. Justino is happy to learn that Amado has died.
Violeta thanks Maximiliano for supporting her in burying her father. Maximiliano asks Violeta if she feels any interest in him. Basilio tries to convince Antonia to sell part of Amado's business.
Mariano decides to travel to the town to visit Antonia and to talk about business. Lia suspects that Violeta is in love with Maximiliano. Antonia confesses to her children the truth about her past romance with Mariano.
Mariano announces his return to Father Basilio. Violeta receives a note from Max to meet her at the cemetery, but she does not attend. Jose Maria continues the search for Violeta. Julio fights with Max and ends up badly injured.
