Mariana Aragón is a witness to the murder of two journalists who were investigating a conspiracy involving attorney Raúl Rey, known as "el Rey".
Mariana flees and on her way she meets Alejandro Castillo, a young journalist whom she asks for help to escape, and Santiago Leal, the commander in charge of Mariana's case, whom she helps bring to justice.
