Barely Famous explores the hypocrisy of reality TV by centering around two sisters (Erin and Sara Foster) who say they would never do a reality show, but are being filmed by a camera crew.
The Foster sisters are quickly growing accustomed to having a camera crew chronicle their lives for the public. Sick of typical Hollywood jerks, Erin goes on a date with "normal guy" Jensen.
Sara's acting career is taking a turn for the better as her agent Utkarsh lands her an audition. She is also asked to mentor a young LA newbie on her acting career. Meanwhile, Erin goes on a not-so-epic LA journey to meet up with a very elusive actor.
After a mom-to-mom chat about a famous friend's kids, Sara tries to get her own daughter into a prestigious preschool. In order to impress the Dean of Admissions, she donates a designer purse to be auctioned off at the school's fundraising event.
After a somber discussion with the Network Execs, Erin and Sara work to rebuild their images in the eyes of their viewers. In order to appear less shallow, Erin dates a guy in a wheelchair, which gets her some unexpected attention.
Sara and Erin meet with their ex-stepsisters and are taken aback by their social media success. Inspired, Sara revisits her old Twitter account resulting in some backlash.
With some positive career opportunities and a party to look forward to, things seem to be looking up for the Foster sisters. Sara is excited to be up for a big role and focuses on impressing the director.
