Selhin Palace falls into turmoil as a result of the King of Abyssinia, Al-Najashi, capturing Prince Thamama, son of King Al-Hudhad, Crown Prince to the Kingdom of Sheba, taking him to Abyssinia. Amr bin Sharhabeel rebels against his uncle King Al-Hudhad having been punished by him and casting him out of Selhin Palace.
Amr bin Sharhabeel attacks the Red Fort and appoints himself as prince after seizing the throne from Prince Yazeed. Prince Sa’sa’ Al-Sahami disobeys King Al-Hudhad after he kills his father, standing alongside Amr seeking revenge.
Security in the Kingdom of Sheba is destabilised after Prince Amr’s mercenaries attack trade caravans and Arab tribes living on the outskirts of the country. King Al-Najashi puts pressure of King Al-Hudhad with excessive conditions, exploiting his capture of Prince Thamama.
King Al-Hudhad refuses to comply with King Al-Najashi’s conditions, preferring to maintain his dignity over the life of his son Thamama. Al-Hudhad attempts to make peace with his nephew Amr, giving up Sana’a and Al-Hamra in order to prevent bloodshed and avert fighting between them.
Amr shows arrogance to his uncle King Al-Hudhad after he refuses to reconcile with him, insisting his demand to claim the throne of Sheba. Prince Sa’sa’ withdraws from Amr’s ranks and sides with King Al-Hudhad in his war against Amr despite him having killed his father.
Balqis, daughter of King Al-Hudhad, insists on participating in matters of governance after her father’s health deteriorates after Sheba’s state destabalises. Amr is scared and anxious after Sa’sa’ leaves his command and attempts to win over vagabonds and bandits with money.
