Cha Woo-hyuk, a determined prosecutor, tracks down a potential informant to reveal the secrets of his father's death. Meanwhile, the second son of Chairman Tae of the Geosan Group, Tae Minho, is instated as the CEO of Geosan Electronics.
Minho returns from the crash unscathed, much to the dismay of Han Jung-won, former actress and Minho's wife. Minho makes his ambitions known during a board meeting, and Woo-hyuk is assigned to a murder case.
Jung-won cannot help but grow fond of Woo-hyuk, who cares for her unlike her husband. Inebriated, Jung-won becomes tearful in front of Woo-hyuk, and Woo-hyuk tries to console her. Later, Woo-hyuk interrogates Jung-won as part of his investigation.
Woo-hyuk arrests Tae Sooho, Minho's brother, as a suspect and learns of Minho's past in the process. Jung-won spends a pleasant time with Woo-hyuk but accidentally leaves her phone behind in his car.
Woo-hyuk is unsure whether he should confront Jung-won about her secret. Nevertheless, he acquires a crucial piece of evidence that proves Sooho's involvement in the murder. Back at the Prosecutors' Office, someone tries to steal a flash drive.
Sooho's attempted suicide leads to internal investigations by the Prosecutors' Office, and Woo-hyuk is reprimanded by his superiors. Excluded from the case, Woo-hyuk visits Na Young-eun, daughter of a newspaper company owner and Sooho's wife.
