In high school, Chang Ke-ai, the top student places a bet with Yang Tzu-hao, a study slacker that if they are admitted to the same university, she will carry his schoolbag for an entire year! As expected, Ke-ai is accepted by her first-choice college but the bet is called off as she has to give up her studies to pay off a family debt. Since then, their lives take a turn and are headed in a different direction. Ten years later, Tzu-hao has become Gorgeous Department Store's executive vice president while Ke-ai works as a street vendor who helps her mother sell clothes at a market. Will the two ever walk in the same direction again in life? Will they make up for their respective regret and become stronger when they're back in each other's life?
After taking over Ke-ai's debt, Tzu-hao demands Ke-ai to work at the department store. On the first day, Ke-ai is isolated and mocked by her coworkers. She is also forced to buy a blouse damaged by a difficult customer. Under Tzu-hao's provocation and Hsiao-kang's encouragement, Ke-ai conducts a live stream to promote the clothes. She manages to increase the sales but things aren't simple as she thinks. The second-floor supervisor, Wu Hsiang-yin intercepts when she finds out about the live stream. A battle between the top student and an old hag is about to begin.
Wu Hsiang-yin definitely lives up to her name as the vicious supervisor. Ke-ai gets a demerit on her first day for conducting a live stream but Ke-ai isn't someone to be taken lightly either. She proceeds to complain to Tzu-hao and Tzu-hao is put in a tight spot. During the meeting, the battle between the top student and the old hag goes on fiercely. Tzu-hao tries to take Ke-ai on a date as a reward but Ke-ai turns him down with all her might. Tzu-hao who is left with no choice carries Ke-ai on his shoulder and takes her out on a date.
Ke-ai takes on Mr. Jiang's challenge to hit five million sales a month despite knowing that it's an impossible mission. At that juncture, the board of directors' strenuous opposition and the conflict among the promoters almost causes Yin-yin, the store manager to suffer a miscarriage. On the other hand, the chairman of Daily Market, Mr. Tiger intends to increase the rent and subsequently trigger the battle between the market and triad. The duo develops unique feelings for each other after being confronted by challenges that come one after another.
Tzu-hao and Ke-ai work hand in hand to hit five million sales. All the promoters deliberately go against Ke-ai after feeling dissatisfied with her appointment as the acting store manager and the second-floor supervisor. On the other hand, Tzu-hao gets jealous when Hsiao-kang shows his concern for Ke-ai. Tzu-hao stands up Chien Chen-yi, the heir of Jubang Bank numerous times. As a result, an irritated Chen-yi shows up at the department store and she is immediately smitten with Ke-ai who is thoughtful and adorable. Besides Hsiao-kang, Tzu-hao has to compete with Chen-yi who behaves like a lesbian to win Ke-ai over. The triangle love has now become an unprecedented rectangle love.
Ke-ai accidentally sleeps with Tzu Hao. The next day, the duo makes a fool of themselves to hide their affair from others. Hsiao-kang is involved in a car crash when he is busy handling Daily Market's trouble. After the accident, he stays at Ke-ai's place to recuperate. Tzu-hao is forced to take care of him. Later, Hsiao-kang is abducted by Mr. Tiger. Ke-ai is touched by Tzu-hao who takes the risk to save Hsiao-kang. Meanwhile, Chen-yi forces Tzu-hao to share a passionate French kiss with Tzu-chieh as a punishment for standing her up.
