The opening of the Swedish roe buck season in August is something special. This is the first of eight episodes following roe deer aficionados Franz Albrecht Oettingen Spielberg and Jean Dominique Strum hunting at Trolle Ljungby Estate in southern Sweden.
Franz Albrecht Oettingen Spielberg has his mind set up on a very special, but also secretive roe buck at his first afternoon at Trolle Ljungby Estate. His hunting companion, Jean Dominique Strum, has a spectacular luck when hunting an impressive old buck – and also sets out to find an antlered doe.
Both Jean Dominique and Franz Albrecht hunts specific roe bucks that they have seen before on Trolle Ljungby. Jean Dominique witnesses the immense effect that a roe buck call can have. And Franz Albrecht not only encounters the old buck he is hunting, but also another buck with a peculiar nickname.
Franz Albrecht has seen a ghost at Trolle Ljungby: A secretive roe buck with an extremely huge and beautiful trophy. The buck has only been seen once before.
