The Seventh Veil (1945)

One of the most successful British films of all time, this intense melodrama plays through the flashbacks of a suicidal concert pianist (Ann Todd) who is plagued by past traumas: denied love, a damaging car accident, and above all an obsessive, domineering guardian (James Mason, in a classic role) who insists on her success at any cost.
