Dee had her first major role in Wes Craven's classic The Hills Have Eyes, which lead to her starring performance in Joe Dante's werewolf masterpiece The Howling and then would eventually find major mainstream fame and acclaim starring as the mom in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi family hit E.T.
