The movie is a biopic on the real-life character, Kunjali Marakkar who is till date considered one of the greatest naval chiefs of India.

An epic tale, set in the late 15th century and early16th century, the film is  based on the fearless seafarer of the Malabar Coast, Kunjali Marakkar.
