"Rites of Pain" is a dramatic hour-long documentary (part of the Rituals of the World series that explores the limits of faith and pushes the boundaries of belief.

The program is made up of three separate stories, each documenting a ritual for which pain--or the refusal to acknowledge pain--is an important component of spiritual conviction, penance and healing.
