ylan Clark-Neal will host a revamped version of \'Ready, Steady, Cook\'.

The 30-year-old presenter is "so excited" to be taking charge of the culinary contest when it returns to BBC One in 2020, over 10 years since it was axed from its BBC Two slot.

He said: "I\'m so excited that \'Ready Steady Cook\' is finally coming back to our screens. To be asked to host such an amazing show for the BBC is such a privilege.

"After making the finals of \'Celebrity MasterChef\' I know how tough cooking under pressure can be."

The revamped programme will reflect contemporary ways of cooking, from budget meals to healthy food and will feature a number of up-and-coming chefs, including Mike Reid, Romy Gill, Akis Petretzikis, Ellis Barrie and Anna Haugh.

The 20-episode series will see two contestants paired with a chef to go head-to-head in a series of challenges.

In the first, the hopefuls are given a £10 budget to buy a bag of ingredients and the teams have 20 minutes to rustle up a dish, helped or hindered along the way by factors such as wildcard ingredients and chef timeouts.

A revamped second challenge gives the contestants just 10 minutes to create something based on audience ingredients cards.

One aspect of the show that won\'t be changing is the final vote, where audience members will hold up a card featuring a red tomato or a green pepper to show who they think should win.

"This will be a series for the modern day featuring a brigade of exciting new culinary talent and with \'Celebrity MasterChef\' finalist, Rylan at the helm, a teatime treat for a whole new generation of viewers."
