"You're my favorite person" Lizzo claimed while asking Chris Brown for a picture backstage
and everyone has something to say about it,
and for good reasons, of course.
After the multiple accusations of abuse Chris Brown has faced
coming from his ex-partners,
it was an awful surprise for the fans seeing that Lizzo,
as someone who identifies as a feminist and has spoken about misogyny in society so many times,
she still went there and asked for a photo with this abuser.
Especially after being a guest in Rihanna's Savage X Fenty show last year and
modeling for her.
For that, of course, people are calling her a hypocrite and a fake feminist
Because how can you care about women's rights, and the mistreatment they get from society,
while being out there telling an abuser,
who physically assaulted someone she has worked with in the past,
that he is your favorite person?
Those are things that contradict each other, especially in these times where
the general public does not support the idea of separating the art from the artist.
On multiple occasions in the past, the artist has told her fans how she,
a fat woman of color, has been the victim of society, misogyny,
and double standards in the music industry because of the way she looks and for simply being a woman.
Because of that, the fans are wondering, how is it that, as someone who was been a victim,
you cannot put yourself in the place of a victim who is apparently your friend?
So far, the artist hasn't defended herself after the video went viral,
and people are waiting to hear what she has to say.
