This May 2022, 'Conversations with friends' is premiering on Hulu and BBC three,
a new show from the book of the same title by Sally Rooney, writer of the
critically acclaimed show and best seller 'Normal People', with Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones,
with the same talented team behind this new production.
In 'Conversation with Friends' we follow closely the messy and entangled relationship
of 4 characters. Frances (who is our main character), her best friend Bobbi, and a married
couple that suddenly appears in the picture, Nick and Melissa.
As is expected from author Sally Rooney, this is not an easy-going plot, nor are
they simple one-sided characters, because we are dealing with intricate and rough yet delicate
and vulnerable characters, that she has the ability to make them as human as they come,
watching Frances navigates her life and realize how complex human emotions are,
and how complex human relationships can be, but there's not only black or white,
everything is between shades of grey. Not every writer has the ability to convey
what Sally does with her work, so raw and emotional, capable of making you
think about these things deeply as a result, that most people ignore in their day to day life.
As for the cast in this new Sally project, we have Alison Oliver as Frances with her TV debut, in a leading
role nonetheless; Sasha Lane as Bobbi, known for her roles in American Honey and Loki,
and the amazing Jemima Kirk as Melissa, and 'The Favourite' actor Joe Alwyn as Nick.
If you liked Normal People even a little, 'Conversations with friends' will absolutely be your cup of tea,
and you should be looking forward to it this May.
