The BBC is producing a Charles Dickens adaptation, and Olivia Colman is starring alongside
Fionn Whitehead in 'Great Expectations', the most recent project in development
based on a Charles Dickens book, since there are other two already waiting in the line
to start production, and both are set to be mini-series.
Oscar and Emmy winner Olivia Colman will star as one of the protagonists in the book,
other than Pip that's the main character, a young orphan that lives with
his sister, but later in life starts frequenting an eccentric old lady that uses her old wedding dress
regularly, Miss Havishan, and falls in love with her adoptive daughter, making him
visit the old lady even more.
In the book, Miss Havishan is really important for Pip's journey of self-discovery,
so we are sure we're going to be seeing a lot of Olivia Colman in this series.
Not only her though, but there are also a lot of other talented actors joining
the cast of 'Great Expectations' as well, like Ashley Thomas, Shalom Brune-Franklin,
Owen McDonnell, and Hayley Squires, amongst many others,
so 'Great Expectations' is set for success, with such an incredible book,
that as iconic through the years, and such great cast members.
The writers and showrunners already have another couple
of hits up their sleeves, so this shouldn't be a challenge.
If you're into coming-of-age and period dramas, 'Great Expectations'
has both covered, so this a title you might have to keep on your list until the release.
