Demi Lovato has always kept her fans up to date on her life and decisions. More than a year ago, Demi, 29, let everyone know that she identified with the non-binary gender but after all this, the artist has updated her pronouns on her Instagram account. Demi Lovato has added the pronouns she/her next to they/them on her instagram profile. "I adopted her/her pronouns again," Lovato explained about it on the Spout podcast.
In fact, the singer again agreed to publicly detail why she has changed her pronouns again, a decision that for the artist transcends gender. "For me, I'm such a fluid person that … I felt like, especially last year, my energy was balanced in my masculine and feminine energy, so when I was faced with the choice of going into a bathroom and I was reading women and men, I didn't feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn't necessarily feel like a woman." In reality, Demi spoke as if she didn't feel like a man either, but simply felt like a human being.
"Lately, I've been feeling more feminine, so I adopted it again," she explained on the podcast hosted by Tamara Dhia, as picked up by several U.S. media outlets. "But I think the important thing is that nobody is perfect. Everyone confuses pronouns at some point, especially when people are learning. In the end it comes down to respect," she added.
Demi in the past, declared herself gender non-binary at the launch of a podcast called 4D and before diving into a one-on-one conversation with Alok Vaid-Menon, a gender non-conforming writer and performer.
