When it comes to streaming services, HBO Max is one of the most popular ones currently available, surpassing even Netflix. The platform is so popular, in fact, that at the last Emmy Awards, the series in its catalog won the most awards. So, it is strange that Barbie Ferreira, an actress who was just starting her career in the HBO Max series 'Euphoria,' has dropped out of such a popular series created by Sam Levinson, a distinguished director.
However, for any fan of the aforementioned series, anyone can see that in the first season of the fiction, the actress has an important presence, while in the second, her role diminished a lot, having only a few minutes on screen. In addition, the rumors said that during the filming, the actress had some discussions with Sam, the director and creator of Euphoria. But now, the truth is out.
Ferreira feels she missed the opportunity to delve deeper into her story in fiction and believes it was too late to correct that situation. "I think there were places I could have gone. I just don't think I would have fit into the series now," she explained on the 'Armchair Expert' podcast. Although her statements could be interpreted as a criticism of Levinson's writing talent and that of the other writers, she insists that in the end they were able to make a mutually agreeable decision because deep down both parties knew that justice was not being done to the character.
On the plus side, she now has time to take on other projects that allow her to explore her talents beyond the classic "fat best friend" role of the leading lady.
