One of the most successful Netflix series last year was undoubtedly 'Wednesday' by filmmaker Tim Burton. The success of the series is largely due to the brilliant performance of the young actress, Jenna Ortega, who won the recognition of critics and audiences. That is why the actress was elevated to the role of producer for the next season, having a commanding voice to drive the destiny of her character. As the young actress is now in charge, she has decided to make a change in her personality, moving closer to the tenebrous in the next episodes of the series. “We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more,” Ortega told Ellen Fanning in a conversation for Variety. “Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously.”
The actress also added that "We're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great," so in the second season of the series, we will not see the young Addams in any romantic conflict, but instead, she will be more on the side of terror, as seen from the beginning.
Jenna Ortega also talked about what it's like to not just be an actress, but to be part of the production of the series and to be able to take on the role of her character. The young actress commented that from the beginning, she participated in the conversations with the writers and with Tim Burton himself, giving her opinion on what worked and what didn't work. So, for the second season, they decided that those conversations would happen much earlier.
