English actress Daisy Edgar-Jones is starring alongside Sebastian Stan in 'Fresh'
a new Horror and comedy movie produced by Hulu,
and the directorial debut by Mimi Cave and written by Lauryn Kahn.
'Fresh' premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2022, quickly becoming a favorite of the audience,
calling it a big debut for Mimi Cave, and a great addition for the "feminist revenge thriller" subgenre,
and after 84 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, is currently sitting with an 85%, Certified Fresh, rate.
The movie is premiering on Hulu this March 4th, and is said to be a fun, wild, horrible ride,
currently tagged as "comedy, drama, and horror", meaning that 'Fresh' is for sure going to be
dark and twisted. And we already have hints here and there, both in the trailer
and the poster. Because of that, we can guess what the movie is about, it's not rocket science
guessing it's about cannibalism, but according to the critics, what matters is the
journey to the end, and how amazing the performances are,
especially from Sebastian Stan that's said to have amazing control of drastic mood changes,
really important for this deranged and twisted character that he's playing,
putting Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones) through a horrible and traumatic experience after
she trusted him completely. Daisy is also said to perform her character incredibly,
being a traumatized woman victim of a man she believed was good for her.
It's only a couple of weeks until we find out if the critics are in the right this time,
but for sure, if you love campy horror movies, 'Fresh' sounds fitting for you. Add it to your
watch list.
